Below is a basic explanation of each of the statuses a panellist can have. More detailed articles are available explaining some of the statuses.
Active
The panellist is Active and can log in to the panellist's profile and can answer surveys.
Bad Email
If the panellist's contact info (email address) is wrong, the panellist can log in to the panellist pages but doesn't get surveys, they will be requested for a new email address (new portal only) which will set them back to Active again and allow surveys to be sent again.
Banned
Panellists who have been removed from the system for repeatedly failed quality terms (speeders/cheaters etc) or known fraudulent activity (including bots), panellists cannot log in, and will not receive studies.
Deleted
Panellists are deleted from a panel, a panellist cannot log in to panellist's pages and doesn't get surveys
Inactive
Panellists who have had their accounts' Active status changed after an established period of inactivity, panelists can still log in (which will reactivate their account to Active again), panelists will not get studies, set by manual intervention or scripted.
Not Validated
The panellist didn't click on the invitation link in the welcome mail to the panel (this e-mail is sent after registering into a panel or via create logons); the panellist can log in to panellist's pages but still need to activate their account, panellist doesn't get surveys.
Sleeping
The panellist is not active; but can log in to the panellist's pages (which will convert the status to Active), the panellist doesn't get surveys; this status has to be set manually.
Unsubscribe
Unregistered panelist (this status can be set manually or via panelist interaction), panelist doesn't get surveys, panelist can not log in into panelist's account, panelist will have any remaining points removed.
