A panelist can unsubscribe their account through the following methods.
- Close account using the portal
- Unsubscribe by survey invitation
- Sending a support request (GDPR, CCPA, Privacy, etc)
A panelist can close their account through the panelist portal by selecting Profile > Close Account under the Settings section. A disclaimer is shown to the panelist making it clear the account cannot be reopened if they close the account.
A panelist can also unsubscribe their account by clicking on the 'Unsubscribe' link in the footer of any email. The email can be customized per panel but the default view will look similar to below.
My panelist closed their account by mistake, can you reopen the account?
Unfortunately, once an account has been marked as 'Unsubscribed' the action cannot be undone and the account is permanently closed. However, in most cases, the panelist can create a new account and we can even arrange the transfer of their old account balance.
We will need one or more of the following to locate the account if the email was scrambled,
- Panelist ID
- Member ID
- Date of birth
- Zipcode
What information is removed when a panelist closes their account.
If the panelist does unsubscribe (close) their account all of the following will be removed:
- First name
- Last name
- Address
- Postal code
- Cell phone number
- Email will be scrambled*
- Status set to Unsubscribed
* Email will only be scambled if the panelist has closed their account via the portal or support request. Unsubscribing via email will not scramble the email.
